Meet the Team

Tania Sanchez Lopez

Co- Founder & CFO

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Tania began her dancing career at the age of 5. Being introduced to folkloric dances during her early school years. At the age of 9 she was relocated by her mother to the Bronx, NY where her dad, to encourage a positive view of the move enrolled her at the Bronx Dance Academy where she took hip hop and tap classes.  Tania always loved the stage! Partaking in every dance or theater production in school, she was able to experience different styles such as African and Contemporary.

In 2000, attending Herbert H. Lehman H.S. she was able to expand her experience by joining their dance classes and eventually joining the Lehman Dance Company.  Participating in various group choreographies and performances. She was greatly influenced by her dance teacher, who went by Ms. B out of endearment, to broaden her experience. Tania attended workshops at BAM for African and Flamenco.

In 2011, after being out of the dance world for a while, she decided to go back to her roots taking Latin Dance Lessons at Roland's Dance Studio. Then later on at Baile con Sazon where she met friends and business partners Stephanie and Tara. Seeing a new world of dance, Tania felt that she needed MORE and this motivated her to travel to obtain more experience than the town could offer her at the time. In 2012, due to demands, Las Fieras was born. Performing at various local occasions and community events. Las Fieras, then decided to begin hosting special workshops, to bring artists from out of town and help grow the local dance community.

In 2014, Las Fieras joined Hayat Yoga and World Dance studios, teaching weekly classes and hosting monthly socials and special events. Las Fieras have now expanded, with more ladies and the addition of the Cavaliers.

Tania has since, been involved in the community as a board member for Latino Community Connects and is involved in organizing the yearly the Latino Community Connects festival in conjunction with Renew Counseling and Kameo Events.

She is now certified for Salsa Instruction by Alien Ramirez, Bachata by Alex&Desiree and Kizomba by Kimberly Nicole.
